IUI is a procedure that involves your doctor using a cathetar to place the sperm into your uterus, painless procedure but a little uncomfortable, your meant to have a partially full bladder I think this allows the uterus to be tilted a certain way so the dr can see easier, however, the procedure seemed to be less stressfull, more comfortable and easier for the dr when I had been to the loo before, but that probably just me!!
IUI can be used if sperm count is low, if sperm is not as active as it should be,or If you are using a donor. Also I think it can be used if cervical mucas is proving a difficulty for the sperm passing through to the uterus.
